I just finished this one for a 1/4 scale steam tractor that I have that was once put out by a fellow named Tom Tearning. The governor used to be available as a set of rough castings, but that was long ago. I was able to obtain a copy of the drawings, so everything you see was made from scratch with the exception of the gears.
I did have one little boo hoo when I silver brazed the pulley shaft bearing in place, somehow it got cocked at a slight angle. When I put this on the steam tractor, I figure that I'm going to have to make some guide rollers to get the belt up and over the steam dome and safety valve, so I dont think it will be an issue as far,as the belt walking off, but time will tell. The gears still mesh pretty good.
I nickle played all of the steel bright work. First time I played with electroplating, and I have to say that it turned out pretty good.
