I picked up some iGaging scales for my lathe.
First up is the carriage scale but the bed rail isn't parallel to the machined backside of the carriage.
I need an angle plate to mount the ends of the scale to, gosh how do I figure the angle?
I have an idea! I'll use my new iGaging Angle Cube I just got in yesterday.
First I need to find the angle on the back of the carriage mount point.
Now let's check the angle of the bed frame.
So now I know the proper angle I need so off to the mill with a piece of aluminum and set the angle for the cut I need.
I milled it and checked it against the lathe bed and it was spot on.
No pic since magnets do not stick to aluminum and I can't take a pic with one hand with my camera.
The angle is different on the other end so I milled another piece at the proper angle.
I sure am glad I bought the Angle Cube as it saved me a lot of time.
Thanks for looking, Maxx
