I inherited A Starrett 103-C 0-1” micrometer from my late father. It came to me without a case, instructions, or calibration wrench. Does anyone out there have one of these mics that could provide the instructions as to the calibration? I have a gage block set coming in a few days, and will be able to check its accuracy, but would like to be able to adjust it if necessary.
Chuck

Edit: My mistake, it's a #203=C, not #103-C

Thanks, Tin. I've seen that info on different sites. I'm looking for info specific to the Starrett 103-C.

I have used a variety of Starret mics over the years and they all seem to have the same basic parts, assembled in pretty much the same basic ways. The sleeve has a small hole in it that allows you to twist the inner barrel. The outer barrel is held to a tapered section of the spindle. Unless the barrel is way out of line, or you want to make the mics left handed you rarely have to remove the outer barrel from the spindle. Probably aren't going to find a Starret 103-C owners manual. Most Starret mics shipped with the same basic leaflet and figured you would be able to figure it out.

How about a picture?

Chuck I think you are worrying just a little much.
I just looked at page 3 of my Starrett catalog it shows how to adjust a micrometer it is the same illustrations as the link I posted.
