I am confused. Not exactly unknow territory.
I have a 13" south bend lathe and I am thinking about making a taper attachment for it. There is a standard feed screw and a telescoping feed screw. Mine has the standard screw. The SB instructions say remove bolt A which disconnects the feed screw from the cross slide. I can remove the screw but the brass nut is counterbored into the cross slide and just removing the bolt does not release the brass nut. Short of removing the feed screw how do you get the cross slide free from the feed screw?
