While I"m on a roll this morning, why do I run out of room in this reply box when I'm typing a post? When I get to the bottom of the box, I can continue, but the box scrolls back up and I can't see what I've typed unless I preview. Could it be I'm too long winded? ::) Is here a limit to dialogue when posting? Or maybe a browser type glitch? Just kind of annoying when all I need are another couple(?) of sentences to finsh what I'm trying to say.

This is a problem that I have had for quite a while. I have this problem using Internet Explorer 8. I started using FireFox and the problem went away. I have tried to find the source of the problem in IE but no luck. It was OK when I had IE7 but when I made the mistake of upgrading to IE8 this was an added bonus that I got but didn't want. :big: :big:

Cheers :)

I have the same problem with IE8. If I'm doing a long post, I usually just use notepad then copy and past into the reply window. Of course, doing that, you have to know what all the little HTML codes are for images, links, etc.

If your running IE8 it's a simple click away to make it work correctly.

In the upper right hand corner you'll see a bunch of icons along with "Page", "Saftey", "Tools" and a "?" in a blue circile. Click on the "Page" and then scroll down to where is says "Compatability View" and click in the box. That should take care of any other web site's or forums that give you the funny results you get now.

the worst thing about IE8 is that it cannot be deleted..wish I had known that when I installed it.

You'll be able to get rid of it as soon as the "new and improved" IE9 shows up.
Out of the frying pan, into the fire.

::)

Actually I've been trying a beta of IE9, and its quite an improvement over IE8. But, it suffers even more wierdnesses on some web pages, making that 'compatibility view' button even more important.

Hi Compspecial,
Actually you can get rid of it. Go to progams, accessories, system tools, system restore. Reset your computer to a date before you loaded IE 8. Just make sure you didn't load any other software in that time period. When I loaded IE 8 I had all kinds of little gremlins, pop-ups etc so that is what I did. I use Firefox now with no trouble.

Wow, what a quick fix. Thanks Bernard.
Now I can ramble on and and on and on................................................!
Firefox, huh. Another operating system?
I had IE7, don't know how IE8 showed up, probably hit the wrong button. Happens to me a lot, big fingers. I'm not having any problems with IE8, that I know of, I thought popups were a way of life.
Chuck I thought about trying something like you said, but it seemed more confusing. I'm confused most of the time as it is, especially when I get on the computer.
