Selecting Tungsten Carbide Turning Inserts for a Small Manual Lathe (Long)

Very informative Neils,i have never used upside downers but instead
mill a recess.I Like the simplicity of the tool will have to give it try.
I would make a comment on use of HSS against carbide
I do not feel that anybody can say to use solely carbide or HSS
No matter what the lathe capacity,material,speed ,feed wet or dry etc
Excluding cnc and flood coolant there is a use for all types of tooling
