I'm sort of 'doodling' whilst waiting for a lift.
There is still a lot of info on the 920 and 918 lathes on the 'net.

For myself, I changed the motor to a VFD and that improved things considerably. You have to change the pulleys but once you have all the bells chiming on three phase-- wow!!!

The next thing is a bit odd- to some. I actually ran a series of Myford accessories on my 918 by the simple expedient of a sub-plate and literal drilled and tapped holes for a lot of stuff from either Myford(then) or from something decent like George THomas's books.
I actually had a vertical slide that did duty originally on a Perfecto, the a Zyto, then a Pools Major and then onto numerous Myfords and now the Sieg. Again, my rear parting tool to Thomas's design works beautifully
What you must forget is that dedicated bits often can be swapped. I sort of standardise with No 2 Morse taper on tool and cutter grinders, dividing heads, collets and all sorts of things.

The trick is to think it it out for yourself,

Best laid plans of mice and men, had interstate visitors to entertain.I bought a Gernie 140.2 at a lawn sale recently i was told there was a loose connection in the switch, pulled it apart Sat arvo, the switch works like it should all the connections look fine. that is the limit of electriky knowledge.

Google this model, seem like they have ongoing problem, just Another good brand being made in china crap quality.

BTW I remember getting shots in the butt , fist night I slept on the other side , next day the quack would not give it in the same side, reckoned it would be too painful.
So for the next week or so had to sleep on my belly belly because of the daily injection alternating one side to the other.
