Hey i was wondering if anyone can answer me this.
my boxford aud has the norton gear box and on the face plate is has the combination of lever position and stud gear to get the correct pitch for the desired thread (metric machine). My question is regarding the stud gear there are two choices a 20T or a 50T depending on the pitch, the machine is currently got the 20T on and i want to put the 50T on but was not given a 50T with the lathe although there is one on the input to the gear box that is not used. do i just take this off and put it on the were the 20T is currently?
Sorry if the question is obvious but this is my first lathe and dont want to damage it or myself changing gears which shouldnt be changed.
thanks in advance..
