Hello everyone

Can you help?
Does anyone know what the female thread is on a Primus 2000 propane cylinder.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Brian

The canisters conform to EN417 specification which is supposed to be universal on all brands that are threaded.

The thread is a National Special (NS) 7/16-28

Here is a link to the a data sheet on the canister valve. I have made a couple of dozen adapters for them for filling Gauge 1 locomotives.

Many thanks for your response, I have downloaded the PDF and placed it in the repository.

The actual cylinder I was referring to has a brass top fitting with an internal thread and valve, I have attached a couple of links to pictures illustrating the cylinder and the thread, it is the thread fitted with an O ring on the valve picture.

Primus refer to it as "internal valve cylinder".

Once again thanks for you help all information is good information :)

Regards

Brian

I think it is a pecuilar thread all of it's own.
best to wander down to a camping store with a mic and thread guage.

I do know for a fact it is the only refillable fuel gas bottle allowed a right hand thread. all others must, by statute, use left hand thread for any fuel gas.

Thanks to everyone that responded to my request for help. I have found that the thread is 14mm x 1.5mm pitch. Tracy tools list it as a spark plug thread.
