Well it all started yesterday afternoon when my wife headed home after a half day of work. A large truck jack knifed in the middle of the Interstate because of all the snow. All lanes were blocked and the Highway Patrol started removing stranded cars by diverting traffic upstream and having the stranded cars drive the wrong way back up the Interstate to the first offramp and exit there. Storm was so bad that the State shut down all Interstates due to all the wrecks.
That made us concerned for our two oldest sons because we were going out to a nice dinner then back to the house for presents, games and fun with the 5 grandkids. Had to call them and cancel rather than put them at risk.
Which leaves us with the 3rd and youngest son from Los Angeles. He is stranded in Denver because his flight was cancelled. He gets to spend Christmas in Denver. He may have a flight in to Tulsa later tonight. That is about 90 miles away but was as close as he could find an open flight to. Hopefully the turnpike to Tulsa will reopen sometime today so he doesn't have to spend the night up there. Also hopeful he makes it to Oklahoma City before he has to fly back to LA. ;D
No complaints. Wife and I spent a nice quiet evening at home. Now I just have to go dig out of the big snow drift that piled up against my front door! We have already rescheduled Christmas for this Saturday. I don't think the date matters.
Hmmm. Nobody is coming over. Roads are closed or dangerous. Can't get out. Sounds like some shop time to me. :big:
