Well it all started yesterday afternoon when my wife headed home after a half day of work. A large truck jack knifed in the middle of the Interstate because of all the snow. All lanes were blocked and the Highway Patrol started removing stranded cars by diverting traffic upstream and having the stranded cars drive the wrong way back up the Interstate to the first offramp and exit there. Storm was so bad that the State shut down all Interstates due to all the wrecks.

That made us concerned for our two oldest sons because we were going out to a nice dinner then back to the house for presents, games and fun with the 5 grandkids. Had to call them and cancel rather than put them at risk.

Which leaves us with the 3rd and youngest son from Los Angeles. He is stranded in Denver because his flight was cancelled. He gets to spend Christmas in Denver. He may have a flight in to Tulsa later tonight. That is about 90 miles away but was as close as he could find an open flight to. Hopefully the turnpike to Tulsa will reopen sometime today so he doesn't have to spend the night up there. Also hopeful he makes it to Oklahoma City before he has to fly back to LA. ;D

No complaints. Wife and I spent a nice quiet evening at home. Now I just have to go dig out of the big snow drift that piled up against my front door! We have already rescheduled Christmas for this Saturday. I don't think the date matters.

Hmmm. Nobody is coming over. Roads are closed or dangerous. Can't get out. Sounds like some shop time to me. :big:

Update: Youngest son caught a connection into Oklahoma City at 1:30 pm. He will be here in time for lunch!

"hmmm.... nobody coming over..... roads all closed.... nobody can get out....." You know in my younger days it would have been "Oh Honey! let's go upstairs.....*wink* *wink*!!! :big: :big: :big: But now that I am older and wiser(?), I too find myself gravitating to the shop more and more. ;D Glad to hear that #3 son is OK and will be making Xmas with the family. Merry Christmas to you all.

Yes, I hear you Jim. But then again back in my younger days "going upstairs" could have taken all day. Now it leaves plenty of time for out in the shop. Rof}

Hmmm SAFE!

That is the most important thing. Merry Christmas vette :) :)

I'm reminded of how much I don't like snow. Spent most of my younger life in parts of the country that get lots of snow and I hated it. The past 20 years, I have lived in parts that don't get much, if any snow, and I don't miss it.

Anyway, glad all is well and everyone is safe. Accidents are never a good thing, but this time of year they seem particularly tragic.

bearcar1, guess all of us when younger must have thought the same, Lathe Nut

black85vette , glad all worked out, never been in snow, looks nice the pictures that I see but guess it really does not reflect the problems that come with it, Merry Christmas to all, Lathe Nut

Merry Christmas from my house---on a good day!!!

More twists and turns. Without much notice Unitied canceled their flight to OKC. John's fallback plan was a 9pm flight to Tulsa. But we found a Southwest flight to Love Field in Dallas at 6pm. So, I guess we are driving down to Dallas in about an hour or so to pick him up there. No seats available on flights to OKC from Dallas.

Hope everything works out 'Vette, and for everyone else stuck in the winter storms.

It's an expected occurrence here, but this year, we have sunshine on Christmas day.
