It's been very dry here for the past couple of months.
Today all that changed and the water is starting to rise in my basement shop.
Normally that would have me pizzed off...

We have members in the coastal Texas area even though that have not been active here.
By morning the storm surge from Hurricane Ike is expected to reach 20 feet.
That's 3 feet higher then the sea wall at Galveston.
I'm quite capable of raising my stuff up a few inches as the water comes up.
What do you do when the sea or Gulf comes up and there no place to go?

You folks be careful down there!

Rick

I won't be sleeping tonight.

I Love Engines!
An engine produces kinetic energy output from a fuel source.

Nature builds them BIG!
Warm water, very low pressure and an organized storm IS an engine.
A damn frightening one at that!

Just give www.weather.com a look.

Be careful, Rick ... from one in hurricane season to one getting visited by one.

To all in the path of Ike... I hope you all are safe and come out unscathed!

There have been some real brain donors down there! While watching TV today, some clown was dancing on the beach in a bear suit while the waves were coming over the sea wall! The scary part is this person could have children!!!!

Be safe all you storm threatened people - prayers from here and if you can spare a few buckets of rain .....
