Just returned from the auction and here are a few of the prices:-

Lot 101 Late 18th/19th century brass model of a Matthew Bolton vertical beam steam engine, originally constructed in
the 1700’s., on a mahogany board with four short turned supports. 27¾” x 11¾”. £620

Lot 102 19th century brass model of a vertical pump engine. 6” square base x 15” high £200

Lot 105 Early 20th century model of a 2 piston engine with con rods, in cast iron, steel & brass. 11¼” x 9”.

Lot 116 Model of a horizontal single cylinder engine, c.1900. 22" long £320


Lot 117 Model of a horizontal twin cylinder engine in brass & steel, with belt wheel. 16¼” x 8” x 8¾” high £400

Lot 118 Gardner’s gas engine by Roger Gardner with dynamo, instructions, gas bottle & pipe. 16” x 12” x 16” high £2000

Lot 121 J. Millar. Model of a vertical reversing engine (Stephenson gear?) in brass & steel, on brass plate & brick
effect plinth. 10” x 7½” x 17½” high. £700

Lot 123 Good well made model of a twin boom water pumping engine. Ex a Glasgow Museum c.1890, with label
"Model Beam Engine" 22” x 12” x 17½” high. £3700

All Prices were hammer price and 15% commision and vat to be added !!!!

I'm no expert but some of those prices seem quite reasonable compared to those I've seen for old model engines here in the states. I also realize it's difficult to judge the condition of a model from a single photo but they do seem well cared for.
