I bought a casting kit off eBay last week, It was posted here, someone identified it as a sealion engine which I believe to be correct. It has most of the parts with it I think. I don't have plans for it, didn't know if someone could point me the right direction to get a set. Also there is a big casting for a cover someone said was a "Mk2 Quorn tool & cutter grinder". No idea, but if someone knows or has a use for it I can have it in the mail to them anytime, its of no use to me. The thread can be found here..

And lastly there are turbine parts, I love the idea of doing a turbine and would appreciate any help on figuring out what I have here.
This is a great site here, and I hope to be a part of it. Some seriously talented people you all are.

Thanks much for any help, Mike

Thanks Jason, Ill probably end up getting them there, was hoping not to pay that much. 30 pounds is bout 40 buck or better, outch.

The compressor wheel looks just like the one I replaced in my Saab last summer.

Thanks for looking barnesrickw, it certainly does look like its out of a turbo, at least the one does. the other 2 dang near fit into the the castings that are there tho.

Mike,

Can you supply some dimensions of the turbine parts. I could assist you in identifying them with those numbers.

Alternately, point your web browser at http://jetmax.ch/en/products.htm They have drawings of the common sizes for NGV's and turbine wheels.

Regards.

Steve

I think I recognize that casting. There was a homebrew turbine movement about 15-17 years ago, they started with a stainless sheet turbine and wooden compressor wheel, then sold kits of the various upgraded designs. For some reason that casting sticks in my memory of their last version, before the whole kit thing imploded due to safety concerns. It may have been the MW-54 turbine from Swede's old pages.

Thanks for the reply's. Ill look through those links and see if its a match, looks pretty close at first glance. Steve Ill get it out after breakfast and get you some measurements on it, that would be much appreciated.

Steve, I'm not sure the best way to do this really but the measurements are as follows.

The casting is,
2.880od
2.600id
0.418 blade length
1.74 od of the center 'hub' for lack of proper terminology
and the center where the hole is to be drilled is roughly .540

And the turbine wheel is
2.612 across
0.430 blade length
0.272 tall
0.314 hole in it

Kinda hard to follow, I can probably draw it on cad if I had to. Hope you can help.
