I have just purchased a second hand 415volt 3phase 3hp motor and controller to put variable speed onto my lathe. I already have a smaller package motor, so I only really wanted the controller, as the motor is much too large to fit my lathe, so anyone in the UK who is passing near at any time (much too large and heavy to post) can have it for free if you can find a use for it.

An elderly friend used to run his lathe and pillar drill off a big motor and some line shafting. Alas, my shed is too small and low for such period re-enactment - at least, I fear I might pull my head off.

This does remind me that the 3-phase motor soon to be skipped at work, might be best placed under my floor for the day when I save up for an inverter.
