I have an Asong power feed on my Excello mill X axis. It is a unit made in China and marketed by a bunch of different companies with their own label. It has been working for the last couple of years except for a burned out rheostat which seems to be a common problem and I replaced it. Lately the feed has been working fine for the first 10 minutes then it slows down and finally just quits until the unit has a chance to cool off. I am not an electronic guru but I would think that something like a capacitor or resistor is getting hot and changing value. Anyone have any tips on what I could check?

think I've got the same style feed unit I'm on my second one the first like you said had a reostat problem then worked into some sorta problem with the feed back loop that keeps the speed sorta constant the second one just keeps working I wsa thinking of trying to make it into a table lift

Thanks. I was hoping that someone who knows a lot more than I do would be able to tell me that I just had to replace part X and everything would work again. Well, I can dream can't I? Guess I am going to have to buy another one. This time I think that I will wait until Enco or some other legitimate US supplier has them on sale.
