Magnetic Broom

Anyone bought/made one? I need one for picking up sharp chips from the workshop floor but not sure something like this:

Runs close enough to the floor to pick up the small stuff?

Not much use if you machine brass & ally and its always teh brass thats sharp and finds its way into your finger.

The sticks ARC do as supposed to be quite good

I can vouch for the Arc ones. I must have got the one smaller than John's, mine won't quite pick up propane bottles.

But joking aside, make sure you buy the correct size for going under your lathe. I bought the 25mm one, the larger one wouldn't have fitted.

I also bought another type that looks like a paint tin with a handle. I tie a piece of string to the handle and drag it around the floor as I can't bend or sweep.

what I have is a large speaker magnet, a ring maybe 4 inches in dia with a hole in the center for a "leash" to drag it across the floor. I put a quart freezer bag on it and drag it. to clean the sharp swarf off just remove the bag and it drops in the garbage. john
