I am wandering if there is a chuck made that will spin under power but able to reverse with your hand and not feel the resistance of the motor. Something similar to a bycycle gear that's able to pedal backwards. Hopefully in sherline size and style chucks. I would like to use this for other purposes, not for metal turning. And not sure where to look.

I haven't heard of such a thing (but that doesn't mean much) but one-way bearings are available in many styles and sizes, so I imagine you should be able to make something to suit fairly easily. Of course you will lose some accuracy due to the clearance of the bearing, whether this is acceptable will depend on your application.
