Hi guys, my names Pete and I'm currently a Junior at a local tech school and I've been looking for prints for a 2 Stroke IC engine and haven't been able to find any I particularity liked. I have acces to every AutoDesk Software there is, Solid Works, 3 Axis CNC Mills, and 2 Axis CNC lathes (No Turret) as well as Surface Grinders band saws etc. I would be hoping for 2+ cylinders. Materials are not an obstacle. I would Highly HIGHLY prefer it be in US Imperial size, but if it's metric I can convert. And even if they weren't free I'd be willing to pay for them. I'm hoping to go to College for vehicle and engine design and want some practice in the field. Thank's for reading if you got this far, lol.

You might want to look at the drawings for the wall 4 cylinder from coles power models. Might be a bit ambitious for a first project though. Then there is a really cool offenhauser 4 cyl ohc model out there by someone. When it comes down to it they are all made the same. One piece at a time. Got patience?

I've got all the patience in the world when it comes to this stuff.

Dang, missed the two stroke part, coles has a 2 cyl 2 stroke but I forget the name of it.

I haven't seen too many multi-cylinder 2-stroke plans, but this site is where I've seen most mention of them.

(I dont think the direct links works, but search on 'twins', or Model Engine Gallery Page 19..

On the 'multi' side, and maybe simpler (glow) ignition if that helps, I'll pass along this link FWIW. I just ordered some plans to start getting my hands dirty.

similar projects, again, 4-strokers though

Pete,
As suggested previously you should take a look at the Model Engine News site. http://modelenginenews.org/

Ron Chernich offers a CD 'Book' of I/C engine plans which would do more than suit your needs. You need to look under 'Motor Boys' in the left hand menu.
Though several are based on castings many as drawn can be built from bar stock and there is a particularly nice twin in there too. Most are in imperial and are extremely well drawn.

Personally, if I may offer some advice - if you have no prior experience of operating diesels I would aim for a single cylinder to start with to gain experience of the kind of fits required and to limit the amount of potential for error for the first time builder. It will also keep the build time short and bring success that much earlier ;) Then move on to a twin :)

The other thing I would say, though some may have differing views here, is not to pick something too small to begin with - the smaller the bore the more difficult it becomes to get the kind of fits required - around 2-2.5cc would be a good starting or if you fancy a particular design then scale it up to that kind of capacity.

I wish well with whatever you choose - good luck with your project

Regards - Ramon
