3D printing a pattern for casting should be easy enough to do. For a simple part like a badge or nameplate I would be tempted to cast in pewter as it's low temp and very easy to work with, while retaining high detail. I've cast a few Lego men in pewter, as well as a few other things, using cuttlefish bone as the mold material and using MDF for backing when required. Pewter can also be electroplated so you can get a different finish (gold, silver, nickel, chrome, copper, etc.) if you desire.
