Hi Jim,
I am new to this game but have one of the Mills you mention. There is a load of info about this model here: http://www.mini-lathe.com/Mini_mill/Reviews/Sieg SX2/SX2.htm
Its a rework of the classic X2 Mill, motor upgrade etc. I have to admit I really do like mine, it is not without it's issues but they can be worked with, basically it a balancing act, knowing both your and the machines limitations.
LMS will be bringing out the AirSpring conversion for this Mill soon, that will help to reduce my number 1 bug bear.

For me, it is the Z axis travel. I personally find the standard torsion spring fitted to be a little un-predictable. It can be worked with, and I have a method that works quite well, however I understand that the air spring conversion is very popular on the standard X2 series and is known to improve matters. I know that the standard LMS kit does not fit the new Mill straight out of the box, but can be fitted by machining some new brackets. Alternatively I believe that they are working on a direct replacement kit.
There are so many of these style of machines out there now that there are hundreds of mods available, from fairly basic up to pretty scary.
This is still quite a new machine so there are realistically not going to be that many of them out there just yet. However have a look about on the Internet for the X2 as they are very similar. I think a lot of people steer clear of the 'what do you think' threads as it is a very personal and subjective matter. What is great for one person will not be so great for another. It is always worth reading through the other Mill reviews on the mini-lathe site too.

I build radio control aircraft and the members on RC Groups have no qualms about giving their opinion on anything! That is why I was surprised by the lack of response on this site. I have a full size mini mill and a 10" lathe out in the garage. Just too cold out there in the winter. This mill would be for small stuff in the cellar.

Please don't be miffed. I too viewed the post, but only to see if there is any more to learn about a machine I am interested in.

Seems kinda pricey. I absolutely love my Real Bull XJ9512. Its heavier than an X2 and costs less . I see mods people do to the X2 to beef them up and I,ve never had the need to do anything to mine . Just my .02 .

Don't be disappointed, many of us don't have a milling machine at home or more importantly don't make it to this forum everyday. Also this mill is relatively new on the market.
The only thing I can suggest is to make sure the mill fits your probable usage. If you already have a larger mill there is a good chance you will be disappointed with a smaller machine, It comes down to your ability to adapt readily to the machine and having projects within the mills capability.
If nothing else this post will keep the thread fresh and hopefully an owner of this mill will chime in.
