I would like to build a h&m and actually hook it to something and run it. Can someone point me to some pics of some running something?

Here you go.
We have a (partial) success story!!! Although the steam engine wouldn't run it very well, my Kerzel hit n miss I.C. engine seems to run it without any problem. Please forgive any "fogging" in the video, but its about 95% humidity in my garage right now, and the digital camera decided it didn't like that very much. The video starts out great, but gets foggier as it progresses.

Hello David, and welcome. Thank you so very much for letting us know a little about yourself, it beats nothing at all. There are many things that an hit and miss engine can run, from drag saws to water pumps and as Brian has demonstrated the pile driver. What is it that you are thinking about building and what size of engine?

Was thinking of the Farm Boy. And I want to power a small ice cream freezer. Like maybe a quart. Not sure if it would do it. Have you seen the 5 hp or so engines running two freezers making around 10 gallons. Scale that way down and you will have the pic.:)

That video is great but that yellow car is really great!

Joe Toptroch has two different size belt drive water pumps that are offered as casting kits, as well as his well known Economy engine. I think that Putputman has built this setup, maybe he'll chime in.

I had to watch the video again ---I didn't even know the roadster pickup was in the picture. Its gone to bed for the winter now, all covered up with old bedsheets to keep the garage dust off it. It is my daily driver in the summer, but a little too "air conditioned" to use untill next May sometime. Someone recently put up a video of their model hit and miss engine operating a can crusher, but I couldn't find it.
