Hi every one my name is Ian ,
i'm from the penrith area in western Sydney and i have been digging around on this forum for a while and have finally decided to join in.
I am also a member of MEW / ME forum and i can already see a few familiar names on this forum.
My interests are many and varied and i will list them but anything mechanical or electrical you can bet your bottom dollar it will interest me !
My interest are:
Ic engines of any type and make
Steam engines of any type and make
Old machinery of any kind
Metal working of any type
Electronics , still a learning curve especially the with micro controllers and their programming but have been playing around with linear IC circuits and radios for a while.
Welding and fabrication.
Shooting - target , hunting and anything to do with firearms or ballistics.
Fishing and camping of any kind
Modifying /improving my machines and workshop - this is a never ending journey !
Motor racing of any type
Rugby league.
I also don't mind a bit of woodworking but its not something i do a lot of.
I could add more like watching history programmes etc and i could probably add more given time but i think i will leave it at that !

I look forward to conversing with the other members of this forum in the future and learning as much as possible from it.

Regards..
Ian

Well sort of ! I used to own one - loved it to bits and my favourite Aussie driver was **** Johnson ,although these days i drive a rodeo !
The only car that would come close to knocking it of the perch as my favourite ( other than a phase 3 ) is a 71 cuda ..
Thanks for the welcome from the wild west !

Ian.

Hi I'm from down the road. Don't machine much but love the work done by the talented people here

Welcome Ian, you certainly have a lot of interests, what type of machinery do you have for model engineering?

Paul.

And a big welcome from Adelaide wEc1wEc1

Hi Paul and thank for the welcome ,

I will stick to the machinery as the measuring and hand tools would run into a couple of pages!

X2 mill with DRO , tacho and belt drive conversion.
HM46 Geared head Mill with DRO .
Taig micro lathe awaiting a rebuild and mods.
C2 lathe with 3 phase v belt drive conversion and Tacho also has taper bearings in spindle with lip seals built into the aluminium bearing covers.
Al320 lathe with DRO .
3 in one type folder, roller guillotine unit .
Drill press.
And much more all guarded by one very mean pit bull!

Ian

Welcome Ian! It's good to have a local with similar interests. I'm from mulgoa, so your not far away at all.

It sounds like you have a nice collection of tools.

Are there any projects on your mind for the future?

Hi Ethan,

If i can stop myself from modifying my machines long enough i have a wish list as long as my arm to start on !
I have a Quayle kit to do for a display steam engine and another two steam engines down the track but IC engines are what i ultimately want to build .
I have a set of plans for a mini 4 cyl 4 cycle engine that i want to build also and the list is growing!

Ian

AAAHHH Nambucca !
Haven't been there in a long time !
Damn it now i want to go Fishing!
But i still have the guards over the scales of the DRO on my AL50G to finish - bugger !

Ian

G'day Ian

Another one from Perth WA.

XD351, I used to have one as well, ex cop car, loved it. I put the 351 crank and rods in, cam manifold etc, 4sp toploader 9" Simmons wheels, turned it into an XE ESP lookalike.

Sold it to my mate 15 years ago. He still has it. Bloody thing still only has genuine 95 000km on the clock to this day. He will never sell it.

Enjoy this great site mate

Baz.

Thanks Baz,
Thats a nice looking Falcon !
Hope your mate never sells it they're too hard to come by these days .

Ian.
