Just dropping a short note to introduce myself. I've been lurking around watching some awesome builds for a while so i thought i'd do the right thing and make my first post here.
A little bit about myself - Left school in '86 aged 15 and went straight into a machine shop to be trained in all aspects of toolroom work. I specialised as a CNC turner for 12 years or so machining all sorts from 10,000 washers to 1 off single and special purpose machines. I have done development work for DuPont when Ford wanted GRP inlet manifolds for their engines and made all sort of test rigs for them. It's fun dumping 30cuft of air into an airtight plastic manifold in under a second!!
Currently, i do not have any machine tools, but an impending redundancy may soon change that ;)
I have a couple of small air/steam engines that i knocked up in an afternoon or 2 many years ago all made from stuff out of the scrap box. You never know, i may even post some pics although they are very amateurish and were made up as i went along while running a CNC lathe.
Well, that's it for now, but when i finally get my hands on some machines i will update on any builds i carry out.

welcome to the forum . funny you mentioned dupont. One of the small display venues I exhibit at about half of the modelers are former Dupont R & D guys.

Welcome Woodster, it sounds like we could be in for some interesting threads.

Welcome Woodster, it seems like you have access to some really great model displays in England. Hope you get a chance to check them out.
