Hello,

I just joined this forum - I hope I am posting my introduction in the right place. This certainly looks like an excellent group you have, and I am looking forward to learning a bunch of good stuff - in time I hope to give back and make some positive input.

I just acquired my first ever lathe - I got a grizzly 12" swing 37" centres gap bed, back gear machine, and my plan is to get into the exciting world of steam engines. I would rather have obtained something British or American made, but a low cost opportunity came up that I couldn't pass, and this is a very nice machine tool.

Hello from Minnesota,

I'm very impressed by the quality of the work some of your members are capable of, and hope some of that ability will eventually rub off on me. I currently have more passion than skill, and more time than money, but that's probably where most people start out. I need a hobby and this seems to fit the bill nicely.
