I am a British expat living in Sweden. I always wanted to get into metalworking but never had the space for a workshop in the UK. Now I am out in the country in Sweden with a large basement and a 3 phase power supply I can start!
One downside over here is tools are expensive. I just imported a mini lathe from the UK - it works out cheaper for a 50KG lathe on a pallet to be shipped here from the UK, rather than to buy one locally! Intend to continue building up the workshop with a bench grinder next and an AC & DC TIG welder or a mill after that.
Initially I am going to make some bits from some old Victoria mopeds I have, and then start working towards making some model engines eventually. This looked like a great resource for help and inspiration. Will probably take me some time to get going due to generally being quite busy but looking forward to it.
