Thanks, John - I probably won't build a magneto, but I read every word because as a newcomer to this sport I really appreciate all the general machining tips you give as you go along.

Here is a recent Youtube of this ignition intergrated on a WEBSTER engine. Neat to see the chain & sprocket drive. 8) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jROBQpAMZg[/ame]

Hi - just found this via Google. Many thanks for sharing, it was a great read.

Please can I comment on your micrometer use? I see a couple of instances of you saying the part is "spot on" size-wise, yet the mic must be screwed down far too tightly to be able to maintain its position in the photos. At the correct setting the mic would easily fall/swing to the table when released from your hand. Or maybe I am wrong?

I only ask as the way I was advised to use a mic, it would never stay in situ as it does in your pics.

Thanks.

He gave me the link to the new site, definitely one for your favourites folder.

I wish Julian well in his enterprise, and it is nice to see things coming back onto the market rather than disappearing forever.
He isn't in it for the money that's for sure !

He can't be making much at those prices.
