Went to a garage sale today and there was a box of old lathe bits and tools. Needless to say i bought the whole box for one money.

Couple things i can not identify.

V blocks with holes in them are about 6" long.
Double V block is about 6"
Rectangle piece has "Illinois Tool Works 396526 T1HS 11-15-48 SJ-2804" on it.

Thanks,
Jon

If they are tools then I'm sure someone will know what they are, but just in case, they could be pieces of linear railing. It's very precise, ground and hardened stock so could have been used as v blocks and parallels. I sold a bit of the stuff in the day and it looks similar although there are lots of different profiles.

Would be handy for holdineg round bar in the mill.A simple c clamp
locking in the holes or use the holes to clamp down.Milling keyways in long round bar ? could be useful etc etc
