I had to figure out how to make that shape (I forget the name for it) in Solidworks.

Logarithmic Spiral? or Nautilus?
Nice modelling BTW.

It was a volute.
I used a ytube video as a go-by, similar to this video:

As I recall, when I was modeling the blower shown in my earlier post, I calculated the size of, and generated, circular sections at the 4 quadrant points, and did a 4-part "additive pipe" operation. FC took care of generating the smooth increase in size between sections.
