Hi Guys,

I hope someone can help me..............PLEASE.

I don't know what I've done but I cannot get Firefox to show the HMEM logo and project of the month images at the top of the screen. I now have a grey rectangular box.

This has only happened on my desktop machine, my notebook still shows everything "normally"

The page info shows I have 2 less Kbs on the desktop than the laptop for the page.

It does not matter if I am logged in or out.

All other images in posts etc. show as usual.

No that's not quite right I also cannot see my avatar.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards
Bob

Bob, check your Firefox Preferences.
Under the Content tab of "preferences" have a look at the "Exceptions" next to "Load images Automatically" - If HMEM is in that list, remove it, and then when you closed the Preferences window, hit the reload button to refresh the page.

Regards, Arnold

Arnold,

Thanks,

There were no exceptions and load images automatically is ticked.

Still NBG and now I'm ticked off. ::)

For some reason which I suspect is related, my avatar file was no longer in my profile. I have reloaded it and changed my profile so at least my avatar is back on the page.

Best Regards
Bob

Bob,

Not a solution , but something to try , if you're running windows os, try reboot in safe mode with network support, see if you can see the logo etc then. If that works ok , then might be something gone awry in you computers video configuration.

Some months ago, after an automatic update, my Firefox was all messed up. I couldn't get images as well and it frequently "hanged up" with a "embarrassed this shouldn't happen" message. What I did was: Disconnected my internet access (I have wireless all over the house), connected my netbook pc and disabled the automatic updates, copied the hole Firefox folder to my NAS disk and then replaced my messed up PC's Firefox folder. I the disabled the updates on this PC as well I it all came back as it used to be.

Mike & Noiten,

Thanks for the help guys. You both helped,  networks and wireless were the clues. I had a couple of techs from my ISP trying to resolve a WiMax speed problem.

I restored my system to before their visit and all is well again.

Best Regards
Bob
