I enjoy designing my own engines. I'm currently working on a flame eater and have the following question:
One way or another, I'll need to control the intake. Cam, crank, eccentric... they all provide some type of linear motion. They can all be timed, but the "open/dwell/close" profile will be different. I'm wondering how important the profile is to success.
