Hi to all here. It's been a long while since my last post, but I've been watching. 
Got an urge to get the i-gaging remote DRO from grizzly. My mill is the generic round column mill/drill from Taiwan. The 12" unit will cover the X travel. $35 USD OK Fine.
Question is: My Y travel is 5.9" Would the 6" unit ($25 USD) be too short? Or just pop the extra $10 and get two 12" units and be sure, knowing thinking I can trim the y axis unit to fit? ???
I'm leaning toward two 12" units just to avoid having problems trying to save a few pennies.
