I purchased a lot of 51 carbide end mills. These are name brand. I paid $95 USD and shipping was free.

This fellow purchase them at an estate sale.

Was this a wise choice? The point was to have a near endless supply of end mills (for my needs that is) I already have a bunch of well used HSS end mills.

Is carbide a bad choice for certain materials? I know there are more brittle.

Hi Kel
Personally i think you have made a good choice, carbide are good for
most materials, and i think you got a great deal , well done.

Kel,
If just 3 or 4 of those 1/2" carbide end mills were good then you got the rest of the stuff free.

Cheers,
Phil

Just to show you what a good guy I am, I'll take that worry off your hands for $100.00.
