Iwas given these 2 cutters today, any ideas what they are used for?

Could they be some kind of boring bar?

Small boring bars, probably HSS

Or,like D-bits,for cutting a flat bottom in a hole.

They look like the router bits that "Wood Butchers" ;D use to make Dovetail joints.

They are boring bars for a mill. I agree they are most likely HSS. I have had cobalt in that type also.

They are definately boring bars. They are exactly like the ones that come with a boring head for the
Bridgeport mill. We have three of them at school.
