Complete Sherline Machine Shop

Hello All,
Do to outside circumstances, I am having to part with my sherline machine shop. It is complete with 2 mills, one 8 direction with DRO, one long travel with Zero handwheels. One shortbed lathe with thread cutting attachment, A2Z QC toolpost and DRO. And the best part, a 3 drawer toolbox full of almost every accesory made, and I mean everything. WW collet sets, rotary table, hold down kits, rotary indexers, mill vises, compound slides, multiple lathe chucks, drilling chucks. Angle plates, collet holders, sensitive drilling attachment, endmill holders, all the adjustable tailstock parts, riser blocks, etc. This was setup for making very small engines, and so every accesory was geared towards that. The machines are mounted on seperrate billet aluminum plates with rubber feet. I stopped adding up the cost at $5900 ( my wife would have killed me ). Hoping to get around $4k for the lot. Dont worry I am not getting out of model engines, just need to streamline the shop and put the money towards the little ones.

would you consider selling any of the accessories by themselves? I could do with a couple for my sherline shop

first of all at least an introduction would be nice before offering stuff for sale. Please read the rules. Also awkward introducing yourself in the middle of a sales pitch.


As far as selling the stuff you mentioned may I suggest you break it down into packages . Like a lathe package and a couple mill packages.
Your location is also a good Idea.

If you are indeed involved in building model engines please show us some of your work and get involved here .

This will be the second time in as many weeks this has come up. Although there is *technically* nothing wrong with these actions, I myself find it rather rude. It makes me feel like a complete stranger has come up to me on the street wanting to hock his wristwatch or other such thing. Show a little common courtesy and a bit of respect and give us an introduction instead of "psssst, wanna buy a watch?"

Aaron (makoman1860), sorry to hear you have to part with your equipment. Hopefully there is still something in the shop to make chips. Sounds like lot of kit at a good price.

I think the rules need changing to some thing like you need to post 25 meaningful posts BEFORE you can put up a sales item that is how it is done on a site I am a member off and there are no problems as the post is just deleted , also you have to have an actual picture of the item for sale and where it is (Part of Country) ,no links to web sites and no posting a duplicate sale of something you have put on ebay or again it is removed with out a comment, it works well stops people joining just to sell also over a certain amount of sales and you are classed as a trader and have to pay for the privilege.

Sorry guys,
Didnt mean to be rude in any way. I guess you could say Im one of those people heavily involved in the model engine building world, but not very "social" at it. I tend to find it more of a personal hobby than a group one, however I do share my work at times, and have worked with guys like Bruce Satra and such. So I guess im just not one for posting much. The short of it is I work in engineering and design engines for a living, thats me. I build models, modify production models, that kind of thing. Thanks for the tips on breaking it up. Ive never actually sold machinery before, im usually buying it! Yep Ill still be making chips, just not at many as in the past. Thanks Guys!
