Not engine related but I'm pleased with the outcome. Have built a couple more engines but seem to be losing my ability to achieve close tolerances.
Decided to go back to basics and machine some fun things like hammer, bullets, trapped nut & spirals. Got a set of plans for a chess set. Decided in Brass & Stainless. Brass worked out ok, but Stainless I had several failures due to work hardening, so changed to Aluminum. All went ok except for the weight difference. I did give up on sticking to the exact measurements and machined them my way.
How do you stop work hardening ?.
