I got this engine several years ago from a cylinder type lawnmower and wondered if anyone could identify it. There is no make to identify it

This is the only marking on it that i could findo
 
It looks like B&S....from the oil filler cap.


Can't be sure though...B&S got copied alot.

FROM THE CARB AND MUFFLER IT COULD POSSIBLY BE A CLINTON OR LAWSON ENGINE OF EARLY 50 S VINTAGE . BRIGGS USED MOSTLY ZENITH CARBS WHILE LAWSON AND CLINTON USED TILLOTSONS- JUST A GUESS -GOOD LUCK - RICHARD
 
hi its a sufik punch engine fited to ther cilinder type gras cuter
 
sos if you notis in pic 3 thers a pin stiking out abuve the flywheel ther is sopsd to be a aluminum blade on it wich is the guvener for the throtel on the carb if you need more help just pm me regards bob

If you got it locally, it maybe a Scott Bonnar clone of a B&S from their factory which used to be at Hindmarsh back in the 1970's.
