John,

I have always had an issue finding an oil gun suitable for the zerk on the head stock of a Myford lathe, they either leaked or didn't work well.
Ordered one of these and hoping for the best!

John
This is the one I use on my Super 7. No problems at all with leaking. I would imagine it would be fairly easy to machine an end to fit a ’push’ type gun?

p.s. This was not new when I acquired it 30-35 years ago.

Doug,

I bought one that looks just like that years ago. It was a different make apparently, because it lacked any ID on the cap or anywhere else. It worked but leaked around the cap and worse around the stem where it enters the body. Maybe I should take it apart and see if a fix is possible. I kind of wrote it off as a bad design.

So I have had the same problem with my myford super 7 ,what a pain. My solution is a small 5 ml syringe that can generate high pressure , enough to open the oil nipple. This I attach to a hard small silicon tube that tightly fits over the nipple. The tube is attached to the syringe with a small cable tie ( so it does not dislodge). That way all I have to do is hold the tube over the nipple ,on occasion ( if the pressure needs to be very high) and use the pressure generate by the syringe to oil the nipple much or easier and inexpensive and can reach all areas of the lathe

The Myford ML7 lube problem...O.K stof, I think I can get a syringe, but finding a silicon tubing to fit nipple could be more difficult..???

found a lot of options for tubing ( and different sizes as well )in model r c shops that sell for their models, as fuel lines.

Guys I don’t know if this will help with your oiling problems but this is what I use with the ball and spring oilers. It seals pretty good but it’s not a 100% seal it’s more like 85-90% at sealing.
