Anyone check how square their column is with their table on their bench mills? If so is there anything you did to straighten it up if it was out?
I have a precision Matthews pm-30-mv that has been converted to a CNC mill. I was able to put a tall granite square on the table and check the column with it, and I had more runout that I was hoping. It probably isn't enough to be worth messing with, but I've been considering making a tapered shim that'll fit between the column and base to straighten it up.
