Having bought the mill with a fixed head I found myself wanting an angle vise
A cheap one is $100 and a decent one over $200.Could I make one ? heres how
As you know from my previouse post I bought a cheap chinese 80mm swivel vise which I was happy with till it broke.With no satisfaction from the supplier
I purchased another from a different supplier.
The bottom section of the broke one I used to make a rotary table,and later
strengthened and repaired the top section,which I used to make the angle vise
I am very happy with it so far,photos tell the story.If any one has the swivel vise I think it would be easy to make a new angle base plate to interchange
with the supplied swivel base

I like it. Some of the ones I see on sale from various vendors look less strong than this.

Please give us an update after using it for awhile: "Would you change the design if you did it again?", etc.

Just a thought but if you change your bolts to shoulder bolts and you know your spread you can use them to "sine in" your vise .

Yes,i have put some thought into accurate method of obtaining angles
I don't think I need to be really accurate for sining in but some sort of
protractor would be useful.Will keep the thread open as I have some tweeking to do
At certain angles the slotted bar would interfern with a long job and at the moment the vise opens to about 50o
I was hoping for at least 60o.Have in mind to make the pivot block to vary posn
and or make a pair of shorter slotted bars Will all come out in the wash
