Baty height gauge find

Fixed a broken axle on a quad bike today and got this beauty in payment .Been in the guys cellar in its original box and wax paper ,a little bit of staining here and there but fully functional .Anyone seen one like before ?

I used to own the 24" type, made by another manufacturer, A.P.E.

It used precision 1" balls to get it's accuracy, and very accurate it was as well.

Unfortunately, it was just too large for my needs, and after trying to give it away in lots of places and to many people, I couldn't get rid of it.

So it ended up being disassembled and the bits used for other jobs.

Here is just one example.

As an adjustable downforce weight on my power hacksaw. It works a treat.

The balls went to satisfy my fetish for shiny round things, and I have yet to find a use for the micrometer head.
