After buying my RC helicopter I keep seeing these videos taken from them in flight.
I gotta have that! ::)

I bought this little video camera from an eBay vendor for about $16

It does not include that micro SD card which happens to be twice the cost of the camera.
You need to be careful inserting that card.

It does come with a variety of mounting hardware and a silicone cover.

It's after 8:00PM and the lighting in the house isn't the best for any camera, but I took it
for a walk from the living room to my dungeon shop just to see what I would get.

Come on SUMMER, I wanna play! :-\

Cool..... You could put it in your helicopter and fly it down to your shop....

Neat item. Mounted on the helicopter and using outdoors you will likely get a better picture than indoor lighting.

UPS just dropped off my heli today and already you are showing more goodies. Ok where did ya get it I got to have one of those too. I haven't even got to try my heli yet it rained here all day. Wife said she thought I had ordered tools, a helicopter is a tool, right.

not a bad little cam you got there, do you have any specs for it?

we tend to use the KeyChain cam that's also goes for a few bucks or a 10'er in the UK.

quick vid of what the KeyChain ones are like in a heli.

That's an awesome video Blighty, the machine seemed to spend much of its time upside down. So did mine when I tried it. But I had to use a shovel to recover the parts. It looks like you could mow the grass with that one. Great stuff!!

this is mine on my mates boat , we have been playing with the drive system it is about 7kg and 42" so not that light for a electric boat the gearbox has helped a lot .
the cameres are great we used one to film the amp draw until we got a data logging system, the quality is very good , I got a cheap one first the one that looks like a key fob but this is a better picture.

Rick, thats pretty amazing video from a $16 camera. Its mind boggling what they can do these days. Depending on the heli and mounting options, I would think a downward or forward camera angle would be wayyyyyy cool too. Here's to an early summer....but wasn't it your local critter that said something about 6 more weeks of winter recently :big:

You can find the specs on the mini camera HERE.

There is a video review on that page of the camera.
Click on the link where he says he fixed the jerky video with a better SD card.

I bought mine from an eBay vendor for the free shipping.

I took a few minutes this morning to try out the new camera.
It wasn't what I would call successful, but I did learn 2 things.

#1 A single rubber band does not hold the camera stable enough to
get a clear video.

#2 WATCH OUT FOR THAT SILLY CLOTHES LINE! :big:

No damage done to the helicopter or camera so I'll try it again when I have time.

Then I found an old toy in the attic.

It needs a lot of repairs that may cost more than it's worth.
Time to buy a new airplane too? ???

I can't help it, I'm a model addict! LOL

Rick

I'm thinking This One

The kids make it look easy enough.

Now to convince the wife I NEED it!

Rick

by the looks of things it has the same specks as the KeyChain one. it may be a case of a generic cam/pcb that they put in different bodies.

AussieJimG

thx for the comment..... don't do the blade scraping bit much these days as blades tend to be on the expensive side. plus if you hit a stone, it can be game over.

HS93

looks cool on a boat. if only they could make the lens in these things to make it look more realistic..... like a smaller lens, but not a smaller lens if you get what i mean.

Rake60...

how we tend to hold the cam on helis and planes it to stick Velcro to the cam and what it's going in, then rap a Velcro strap around the cam to hold it down. that's how the cam in the vid i posted was held down.

I hadn't thought of that.

Thanks for the tip blighty!
