Another new member, long time reader

Hi all,
Ive been planning to sign up for years but only just gotten around to it while I'm current stuck at the mother in laws, far from my workshop.
I started hobby engine building 2.5 years ago when the Mrs got pregnant, wanted a hobby I could do at home and a skill to pass on when my boy is old enough, hes already keen at 2yo but not quite sensible enough yet.
So far Ive built:
Poppin hot air engine,
Jan ridders Puppy,
a few odd ball Stirlings of my own designs, a few simple steam engines and a nice little beam engine as a gift to grandfather in law
I'm Currently 2/3rds of the way through a Hoglet.

Workwise I spend my time fixing / fault finding at a chemical plant.

I owe a thanks to the regular posters on here who's build threads are a great source of info for us learners.

Hi,
I'll get some pictures up next time I bring my laptop home. Just about finished one of the cylinders for the hoglet. It was slow going on my lathe, had to make a tiny parting tool as my setup isn't rigid enough for 2" cast iron. Each fin on the cylinder was cut in three tiny chunks

here's a few more, easier to upload than I thought.
My favourite so was was the poppin, it ran great with a nice sound. Shame I sold it to put towards my first house but I can always make another.
The little beam type Stirling was built with left overs from an Elmers steam beam engine. I built a steam one as a gift for partners grandfather with the plan to make myself one too but I turned it into a Stirling instead, runs ok but only with a lot of heat. The hot cap is only aluminium so it conducts too much heat away.
