Another Flying Model

I have always wanted an outdoor RC Helicopter but with other hobbies eating up the budget I
just couldn't afford one.

Then I saw THIS AD for the Double Horse 0953 Volitation electric helicopter.
26" long with a 21" rotor for $40.00?
I had to order one just to see what you'd get for that price.

It arrived today.

It's a little too big for indoor flying but it's dark and cold outside and I wanted to see if this
thing would really fly, so the living room would have to do.

The boxer doesn't seem quite so interested in attacking this helicopter.

The turning control is a bit abrupt, but the gyro works great for a model of this price range.
I can't wait to get it outside!

I got the micro indoor version from my wi\\ mrs.santa clause for Christmas, getting kinda good at it. I like fighting the air currents from the ceiling fan in the living room!, and threats from my wife when she thinks I'm getting too close to her ;D

Quite a collection rick. How long will it go on a charge?

The big one will fly for 10 minutes on a full charge, and it takes about 2 hours
plugged in the wall outlet to achieve that full charge.

That sounds like a short fight time.
After 5 minutes I'm ready to land it or call in a back up pilot.

I'm thinking one of these would be better.

Rick a neighbor across the street brought his non working copter like your new purchase over for me to look at. I googled it and found numerous you tube vids of mods for it.

Mods to prevent main rotors from hitting each other to longer flight times and better performance in wind. It seems to not do well even in moderate wind.

I have studied the mods and might do the lower rotor flip thing.

A lot of the reviewers and mod makers are trying to turn a $40 3 channel model into something it was never
intended to be. I'm happy to buzz it around the back yard on a calm evening.

Chasing stray cats and buzzing the neighbors annoying dog is kind of fun.

Nice find for $40....Even if it appears a bit 'sticky'..

Cant you make any adjustments to stop it being so 'stiff 'on the stix?

My little Eflight Blade is a gem to buzz around in the lounge...lasts for around 6 mins before the battery goes flat..

I got it all trimmed out today.
No more jerky turns.

The manual says to stay at least 10 feet away when flying.
Living room floor space between the furniture isn't much bigger than that and I got a little
too close to it.

It didn't cut you but it did bruise up a shin.

Idiot! *club* No damage to the rotor blades! :

You crash it, go pick it up and set it back on it's skids and crash it again.

They are pretty tough little birds.
