I am located in the Fingerlakes region in Central New York. I am looking for Stirling Engine makers and builders who would like to participate in a Stirling Engine Boat Rally. There is a boat Rally in the U.K. every year and features the work of genius builders such as Norris Bomford, Andrew Hall, Julian Wood, Bob Sier, Malcolm Rowney . These gentlemen gather every year and boat around on the Thames with their Stirling Engine powered canoes and skiffs. This, of course, takes some rather advanced Stirling Engine Engineering. I will soon be posting my latest Stirling Engine designed for the purpose of powering a canoe. Here is a website I put together in an attempt to find other like-minded and obsessed Stirling Engine geeks.

Anyone interested in participating in the Rally, please contact me.
I am thinking a good place for the Rally would be Seneca Lake State Park.
Cheers and let's join our brothers across the pond in this potential event.

Even though Seneca Lake is big enough to hold every Sterling driven boat on the planet it might be useful to support small craft that can't be road upon. Maybe even consider a gathering of every type of Sterling builder. After all why limit the gathering to boats? Schedule at the right time of the year and you may be able to draw a large crowd.

Not that I like to quote my own posting but my iPad app clipped half of my post! In any even I said basically that Sterling engines are beyond me at the moment. However Seneca Lake isn't far away so I'd be inclined to show up as a spectator and an express my admiration for the efforts put into these engines.

Good luck to you Canalzombie, I hope you find lots of other people to join you in making and running large(ish) Stirling engines. If you are interested, the church where Stirling is buried (and where he preached) is trying to get people to donate to a fund to renovate his grave which is looking a bit sad.

Thanks for the reply Wizard69. It is a good idea to incorporate all facets of Stirling Engine building. I really like that idea. Near the Marina in Seneca Lake State Park there is a pavilion that can be rented that would be ideal for the exhibit.

Thanks AussieJim. I will be overjoyed if I can find just a few Stirling Engine obsessed makers in my area.
Where is the site for donations for Stirlings' grave? I wasn't able to locate the site.

Thanks AussieJim for scanning that article. Mr.Stirling is definitely worthy of a proper memorial. Cheers
