1 hp motor project?

Forgive me for not posting in a while!

I saved a 1 hp Baldor electric motor from the trash at work today and it came with a multi stage hydraulic pump of unknown pressure attached! I have NO idea what I'm going to use this for!

so the question of the hour is - what should I make with my new 1 hp electric motor?

It will be wired for 115v, btw, it's what we have.

how about welding up a frame by a hydraulic cylinder from harbor freight and make a hydraulic press of whatever flavor your heart desires. . I would make a general purpose one but you could adapt to bend pipe make a press break spit wood. lots of possibilities. nice find.

Funny story... they were throwing out a 5 inch bore hydro cylinder today, and I brought it home too!

I would have to find a high pressure gear pump for a press...the thought of a gantry crane or the like came to me.

Anyone have any other ideas!? :bow:

what pressure is your pump?
a 5" bore will do some pushing almost 20in^2 surface area.

Yep. I'm with Tin. A hydraulic press is the go. Worth their weight in gold.
