Help Please. Troubleshooting a New Webster

I found that the fuel mixture has to be spot on to work. I use a vapour carburetor of Jan Ridders design worked well. Timing was not my biggest concern as i used a CDI system. It pays to check for spark regardless which ignition system you use. Aslo check plug gap. The local mechanics say they...

Help Please. Troubleshooting a New Webster

I used 0.4mm Jointing gasket material. The gasket is between the head and the shoulder on the cylinder where the bolts are. I found the compression quite high and used an electric drill to start it. Cheers, Andrew in Melbourne

You will need a larger compressor to get higher speed. I tried a similar setup and had the same results. I was able to get 50rpm using an aquarium pump. Cheers, Andrew in Melbourne

    How do they do this?

I have found that they are pressed on. I have removed many of the gears with a slotted metal plate to support the gear held in the vice and a drift/pin punch to drive the shaft out. Cheers, Andrew in Melbourne

    el gringo webster

I forgot to put the video link. An FYI is I am a high level quadriplegic. If I can build one you can to. The rings were made using a rear brake cylinder from a Mini, I think it was a 1968 model. The inside diameter of the bore is 19mm. Piston was aluminium bar and the crankshaft was machined...

Best way to polish bronze bushing?

The bronze bushes I made were reamed and left in a reamed state. The crankshaft was polished with 1200 grit. Be careful not to go undersize when polishing. Rather a few scratches left in the shaft, which will aid lubrication, than undersize and have to restart. Remember the engine is not...
