    A different opposed piston engine---

Pre-Ignition is usually under load I had no pre-ignition in that engine just no power. You have understand that the engine I ran was on straight methanol with 10 cc of nitro so if I got a pre-ignition my piston was gone in about 2 seconds because did that at one time to much nitro temp gauges go...

    A different opposed piston engine---

Just a thought but could you have to much compression? I ran two stroke kart engines in the 70's and we had modified the cyl head for a better flow. When we ran it we had low power after a compression test we were over 300psi. Got it back to about 125psi and it worked fine. I know you've been...

    Single Point Threading Help

If you have a surface grinder I made a fixture to grind it the same every time it takes longer to start the grinder than to touch up the tool. You can do the same with a belt sander or a bench grinder if you take the time to make a proper tool to do the job. It's worth the time to make a fixture...

    Single Point Threading Help

I don't use a fish any more I butt the QCTP up to the squared work piece of work. It's seems to be easier for me and the threads look great. I'll have to find the articles but they all so stated to cross feed fine threads and to compound feed coarse threads due to amounts of material being cut...

I've had about 5 indicators from past buys and mine are 3/8" I had to make a holder for my mag base I thought about using my digitals and I may try them just to see but they are slow to react that is why we stopped using them on spindle at work. Single Point Threading Help

Here are a few pages that show the proper way to set up and cut a thread these are from the Army manual. It might help because it shows how to set up the compound and the tool for cutting threads. Also had another thought be sure that you are reading the right angle on the compound mine has two...

    Single Point Threading Help

I'd have agree with velocette the thread looks wrong, compound is usually set to 29-29 1/2 deg I use 29 it seems to clean up better and the tool should be square to the work piece with a fish. When you cut it should just skim the back side of the cutter to give you a clean thread. Look it the...

Pressed Pin versus machined on crankpin - discussion of virtues

I don't know what you guys have to work with but if you make an offset holder to put in a spinner or a means to rotate the part and use an end mill to cut it or I plan on a circular cutter. The reason I'm looking at a circular cutter is that is the way we made the cranks for GM engines and it...
