    Cedge's Victorian gets an Update

My original "plans" were to eventually convert the little Duclos Victorian engine to a Vapor Foam system, but time caught up with me and I added an aspiration carb to get it running in time for a local show. Once again the engine is scheduled for the same show and this time I managed to get into...

    3 BALL GOVERNOR

Brian Only one thing left to add to your design. You'll need a spring and adjuster collar to make it all work. Easy to do if you just place it all on the central shaft. The spinning balls won't collapse all by themselves, trust me....LOL Steve

Anyone know what these are for?

Tel You should always add a warning that operating without the ratchet safety catch will warp your wimple. We're not all aware warped wimples won't work. Steve

    Back to the Minnie

Enjoying this build to the max. I hadda buy mine already built. Not much fun in that....LOL. With two grandsons, I guess I'm likely to have to build one yet. Steve

My day as a foster mother

On one of my property lines, a huge old oak tree succumbed to disease over the winter. The particular fungus made the wood decay quickly, turning the tree into a "widow maker" with a bad habit of dropping large limbs to the ground. Since there are children next door, I scheduled a tree service...

    Scrap Yard Bummer

Marv.... If you plan to go probing this mind, wear rubber boots.... it's a dark damp sticky place in there....(grin) I'm just pleased to learn I'm the one exception to the new rule. Steve

Congratulations to the August Project of the Month Winner

Sam Welcome to the brotherhood of POM'ers. Yours is a well deserved win, especially considering you were stuck with working with so much of that evil brown stuff. We all hope the trauma of that harrowing experience heals quickly....(grin) Steve

    Scrap Yard Bummer

YAAAAAAHHHHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... LOL I gave my scrap yard contact a call this morning and asked him if I'd somehow managed to piss someone off on the yard. I explained that I'd been told I could no longer buy metals because they were no longer selling to the general public. There was a...

    3 BALL GOVERNOR

Brian Glad to see you working on this project. The governor on the Victorian Engine gave up the ghost by self destructing the "lower" pivot points. I always wondered if I'd made them a wee bit too thin....(grin). Something quite similar to your design is going to replace it, so it's nice to have...

    project of the month question

Well said Bogster. I've voted for more underdogs than blingmeisters, myself. Even a beginner has the chance to get my vote if he's swinging with everything he's got to give it. Steve

    project of the month question

Brian... Trout said it about as well as it can be said. Think of it as being a "wedding planner" without all those wilting flowers....(grin) Steve

    project of the month question

John In all fairness to you, this subject was taken up by the moderation team some time back. After discussing the idea at length it was decided to leave the POM as is for the foreseeable future. It's interesting to see some of the same points being made by the general membership. Other...

    project of the month question

John Having put myself through several online build threads, I can assure you you have things backwards. The microscope thing is not really a factor that is un-nerving, it's the feeling of sitting naked in Macy's front window that makes it difficult. If you blow it, there isn't anywhere to hide...

    causing upset

Anyone considering a using a pressure cooker in such a manner should take time to ask Brian Rupnow to recount his Sunday Dinner saga about cooking a chicken in a pressure cooker with no safety valve. Hilarious story, but it brings home the point that when things go pear shaped, they get there...

    Scrap Yard Bummer

These guys have always been great to me and I've tried hard to return the favor. All transactions have been in cash, so credit was never a problem. I even avoided dickering on price because they pretty much let me have unfettered access. I'm at a loss as to exactly what made them go this route...
