Nice little lamp, Dean. Do I smell a new project coming? Will it fit under the Stirling?

George, That looks like the read outs being discussed in this thread: http://www.homemodelenginemachinist.com/index.php?topic=9163.0 I think the Grizzly ones being discussed are shorter, but it's the same company.

    Bogs goes electronic.

John, That is great news! I'm really glad the saw bones were able to give some relief without taking out the life from your routines. The implant looks interesting, it could extend your day. Yes, the video did work just fine here across the pond.

    Confused about Collets

Hi Woodguy, I'll try to answer and hope I don't add to the confusion. I use 4 different collet systems in my shop: R8, 5C, MT3 and ER40. R8: The most common (by far) taper collet used for milling machines in North America. Thus, the tooling is readily available and affordable in the new and...

    The Lancaster

I've been to the EAA fly-in at Oshkosh several times. British planes are quite rare, but there are always several Mustangs present. There ain't nuthin' like the sound of a Merlin! I can listen to Pratt & Whitney radials and Merlins all day long! Airplane noise, it's the sound of freedom!

Very nice, Bob. I really like that bronze color, quite different from the usual blacks and reds.

Because we can ;D Just reading about something in a book or article does not make one an expert on the subject. Reading will not give real experience in applying the knowledge, that takes practice and even making mistakes along the way. We, as humans, often need first hand experience to see...

    Anodizing..another expirement...larger part this time.

Babba, While I can appreciate your concern, I think your comments are a little off base. Bob is not trying to operate a production shop, but simply wants to anodize a few parts he makes. I too am interested in the process. I have several PC power supplies laying about taking up space, if I...

Welcome back, Terry. I'd been wondering where you'd gone off to. Looking forward to the video, as well. It looks mighty fine just sitting there.

    Screwless vise dude

Hola Anko. I have the 2" screwless from LMS and highly recommend it. I've had it about 6 years now and still functions well. Though made in China it is a very high quality tool. It's made of hardened tool steel and finely ground on all surfaces, all corners are perfectly square. The floor of...
