    Trout's Shop Tour

Very nice, Trout. What a great video. That shop is way too clean and tidy, though. That kind of organization is the sign of a very sick mind ;D

Digital Tool for Measuring Radio Control Servo Torque

You could use a cheap digital scale from Harbor Freight. They display in metric or Imperial units plus a couple others. Of course you'll have to do the math to convert to Newtons or ounce/inches but a pretty cheap way to get started. I think I paid around $10 USD for mine, maybe less.

    The Sea

Do it, Dave! You'll never regret it. Or forget it! Yep, have to agree for the most part. That's why you always hook the doors open, except on open deck. Then it's dog em down tight! Cabinets and lockers never seemed to stay closed, they always found a way to open and empty themselves. Usually...

    The Sea

LOL Rick! I know what you mean. We had a couple guys that had trouble keeping their lunch. At the time I was sailing I also drank rather heavily. My land-based friends wondered how I could sit in a bar all day and still walk in a straight line at closing time. Try walking while drunk on a...

    HMEM name change

Johnathan, If you go into your profile, on the left side of the screen is a column of menu items. Click on "Account Related Settings". On that screen you will see a box labeled "Name". You can change your name right there.

    MGB question

Mine was a '70, also! It was dull red when I got it but I repainted it Ferrari Racing Red. My friends called it "Arrest-me Red". As soon as I could afford it I put a pair of Weber DCOE's on it. Man, it would scoot then! Now I just like to run up a winding hill by the house and the occasional...

    MGB question

Damn, seeing these old roadsters makes me miss my old Fiat Spyder. But I do enjoy my MX-5 (a true British roadster, so says Jeremy Clarkson.)

    My workshop

Nice shop for cars. I could play there :) The yellow framed car looks vaguely like a Super 7. Caterham perhaps?

    Precision Vise Problems Again

Mosey, I've had one of these vises for a number of years, and it is probably my favorite. I've encountered the same problem and it's really a user issue. The bolt can be tightened up at an angle, pulling the jaw down and forward at the same time. The problem arises when the bolt is almost...

    Flourescent Light Danger !!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been using the CFL bulbs for years (10+), most work OK but there are some that don't last long at all. Maybe a few months. Putting them in any kind of enclosed fixture will definitely shorten their lifespan. So far I've had the best service from Philips brand. Just picked up a $10 LED...

Still learning about myself - a funny story

Chuck, Just noticed this thread. You are definitely not alone! Regarding the window lock button... My Isuzu Rodeo has a similar button and I've done the exact same thing! I also found out the window lock affects the rear doors. I managed to accidentally lock people into the back seat and didn't...

    someone stole my post!

For what it's worth, they aren't just stealing from HMEM. It's happening to other forums as well. I would bet that every post on that web site was stolen from someplace else.

    someone stole my post!

Pat, please be careful with that phrase. I realize it's just an expression to you but some people may take it literally. And it means something very serious (and very bad!) to me. I just checked the system and logs, we have not been hacked. However, there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that...

    Inexpensive Parallels

I've used 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch HSS lathe tool bits in a jiffy. I've also made my own out of aluminum, steel and brass. Not hard to make at all, just need to make sure your mill is in good set up.
